The Treblinka Death Camp was opened in November of 1941. The primary focus of the camp was to exterminate all the prisoners. The odds of surviving were very slim for the prisoners. Only one percent of the people that were brought to Treblinka survived the first three hours. The camp was run by prisoners that were overseen by SS guards. Most of the time, however, the workers were worked to their death. Treblinka was destroyed by the end of the war. The Nazi's did not want anyone knowing about the horrors that occurred within the barb wire. The camp was so well destroyed and with very few survivors that the camp received the nickname as the forgotten camp.
